Mark is a certified rescue scuba diver and enthusiastic underwater 360 filmmaker with a passion for ocean conservation. This passion led him to found Immersive Education LLC (dba Akuario) in 2019 after a decade long career as Senior Scientist and Project Manager at a multi-national environmental consultancy where he managed portfolios in excess of $10M. He holds a PhD in biogeochemistry from Princeton University.
David joined Immersive Education LLC in 2019 after having been Director of Strategic Development and a Fellow at the World Policy Institute where he also served as the Director of the Program for African Thought (PATH), and the Editorial Director of the African Angle blog. In addition to his work with here, David is a Founder of Broaden Impact, an educational media and events company. He is an open water certified diver.
Elaina joined Immersive Education LLC in 2023 after having started three successful businesses. She is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with over 2,000 dives under her weight belt, and has dedicated her life to sharing the wonder of the oceans with the world. In addition to her work with here, Elaina is on the board of Catalina Island’s Chamber of Commerceand volunteers as an EMT with her local fire department.
